I knew after our first meeting over coffee, that Rachel and Robbie planned to host a truly unique, artistic, and raucous wedding! Not to mention, stunning. Set to the backdrop of Grand Lake in late fall, the energy of this celebration quivered like the final leaves left on the Aspen trees. And though I know it had something to do with the tilt of the earth, it felt as though the whole day unfolded as if through rose tinted glasses. Needless to say, we love the way this film came together and we hope you do too.
I had the opportunity yesterday to sneak away from the editing desk for an hour and show my support for women's rights, human rights, the rights of the arts, humanities, and the environment. I oscillated on whether or not to go, only because my son was being looked after for the day and time is so precious with a one year old, a wife in grad school, and a bustling business to look after, that I felt inclined to stay glued to my seat and work. These days we are editing around the clock to make sure we get our couples a film that will stand the test of time, while doing so in a timely fashion. Yet after speaking with my sister yesterday morning, I knew I had to take that hour to show up. And thank you Leslie- your words inspired me to go, and the rally inspired me to continue to show up, just like the millions of people that showed up around the world yesterday. Leslie explained to me that she was going because while she too was busy, she felt that Trump's campaign aimed to turn people inwards, to posture us into a defensive stance, and this was an opportunity to remember and demonstrate that we as a nation can open our arms and offer a hand to all those beautiful and diverse people that wish to live and thrive here. For me, this validated the excursion completely. I believe wholeheartedly in the power of diversity to sustain communities and the environment. I want my son to grow up in a country and a world that honors inclusion, acceptance, and diversity. After the march yesterday, I feel more hopeful than ever that will be his future.
A body in the crowd will mean a lot over the coming years as these ideals are challenged. That being said, there were a lot of meaningful bodies in the crowd yesterday, and I feel honored and inspired to be part of such an incredible community. I hope you are moved by the images I captured, and that you enjoy some of the quotes and ideas that came through my mind as I was marching forward with my fellow Americans!
I showed up for my son, for his future, and it felt invigorating seeing thousands upon thousands of people show up, bring their families, and treat one another with such genuine respect!

Because I was not a Jew.

As I have been employed in the arts for years, I truly believe that...
Taylor and Diana chose to celebrate their love by exploring somewhere totally new to them, and we couldn't be more happy that they chose to bring us along for the ride! Telluride was one in a series of adventures for this travel loving couple, and it set a stunning precedent for their life ahead. Our goal was to capture that adventure, their love for one another and their family, and all the beauty of the place, people, decor, and energy associated with this celebration. Taylor & Diana's incredible feedback means the world to us, and helps me believe we succeeded in achieving our goal:
"Ohmygosh! We love the video! You're so talented! It was wonderful to get to relive the wedding again through this film. It captured so much of the feel of the day, the love between Taylor and me, and the love between us and our family. You were able to capture a story and edit it such that it flows through the video perfectly. Really beautiful. Luckily, I worked from home today, so no one could see my crying...It's an amazing thing to know we'll have this video to watch for years and years to come and that, while watching it, we can be transported back to such an important, beautiful day in our lives. "
Thank you to all the folks who helped Taylor and Diana realize their vision, and to the lovely couple for including us in their special day!

I love this piece. Vanna and Hercules put their complete faith in us to capture and express their wedding in an artistic film, and we couldn't be more thankful. They celebrated with all of their hearts, family, and friends, and the day was full of so many beautiful and genuine moments that it was hard to stop filming. We hope you enjoy this piece, and we wanted to say thank you again to Vanna and Hercules for such positive feedback about this film:
"Matt! WOW. I can't accurately describe how amazing this is. It really exceeded all my expectations and is my new favorite movie! I'm going to be watching it all day..."
"A few more compliments because I just can't contain my excitement! I'M obsessed with how you had my sister's statement of family is everything throughout. The music detail is UNREAL and it's just the most amazing thing I've ever seen. You totally made it like my dream of half nightclub and half greek taverna. You are so so talented and I just can't wait for my sisters to get married so that we can do it all over again with you. I will recommend you time and time again. You are a true artist."
We had the chance to work with three other stellar film makers on this project and what came out felt so good and unique that we had to share this piece! Elias & Roo shared such a beautiful celebration with their friends and family, in such a beautiful space, but what we enjoyed most about this grand film is how palpable the love between this couple is. We hope you enjoy!
When TJ Miller & Kate Gorney told us they wanted their wedding captured in a way that blended the feeling of The Wonder Years with the sensibility of Salvador Dali...I had no idea what that could, would, or should look like, but I knew I was up to the challenge. (I'm a pretty big Dali and Buñuel fan, and who doesn't like The Wonder Years!) Their celebration sounded beautiful, vintage, and just a bit off the beaten path, and that seemed like a great fit with our aesthetic. I was mostly roped in by the fact that TJ, who had grown up near Cheesman Park in Denver, CO was truly interested in highlighting the local talent Denver has to offer. In that vein, he brought in some people who we felt truly honored to collaborate with, such as their photographer Ashley Sawtelle, whose work from this wedding was featured in Town and Country. We took this love for Colorado creatives one step further in the edit by collaborating with the oh-so-talented Colorado based musician, Elin Palmer. Her song, Stora Stövlar, flows seamlessly with the super 8mm footage we captured from the day, and when we reached out to her to make sure the lyrics, which you'll note are not in English, made sense for a wedding film like this project, this is what she had to say, "The song lyrics, by the way, are suited perfect for a wedding, the gist of it: Two people walking with big boots through a city, feeling the energy of 1000 voices of the world. Chorus: Its was just …. You and Me….today." While they might not have been wearing literal big boots on their wedding day, as I start to see these two pop up more and more in films and other big productions, it does feel like they will be sharing some big boots together on their journey through life! We'll let the film tell the rest of the story, but it was a magical ride, and we hope you all enjoy!
